United Garage Services’ (UGS) garage technician from LHA Car & Commercials, Daniel Shaw, has completed his Level 3 IMI qualification for EV/PHEV vehicles. The garage has also purchased the full EVKIT from their sponsoring member Yorkshire Exhaust Specialists.
Pauline Cosgrove and Mark Cosgrove, owners of LHA Car & Commercials says:
“We decided to get on board with the EV/PHEV training after the GROUPAUTO & UAN conference in Liverpool. They mentioned that this is going to be the future in motoring and we had already lost out on a simple job as a link bar.
“The EV kit is a must as it is so dangerous for someone to work on an electric vehicle without the correct equipment.
"The training undertaken by Daniel means he is now fully qualified to work on and repair electric or plug-in electric vehicles."
The IMI EV/PHEV training courses are broken down into levels 1, 2/2.2 and 3.
The EV 2.2 course is the awareness and knowledge-based training for those that will encounter damaged or broken down electric or plug-in electric vehicles.
The EV Level 3 course is an additional day of training which builds upon the knowledge gained from EV 2.2 and on completion delegates are qualified to repair damaged or broken down electric or plug-in electric vehicles.
